Pear Tree Hymnal | In 2007, the Pear Tree Hymnal was published. The Pear Tree Hymnal endeavors to breathe new life into hymnody—those voices from the past who speak powerful lyrics explaining the gospel in a priceless and timeless way—by clarifying the meaning of archaic words, phrases, and complicated language and providing a melodic framework for the lyrics to shine in singable music fit for our culture.

For millennia, Christians have realized the immense value of singing. With that same view, Pear Tree Hymnal seeks to help believers worship with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength most reverently, passionately, and vigorously.

The Pear Tree Hymnal contains lead sheets for 67 songs. Thirty-three of these hymns are original; the rest are adapted lyrics set to new melodies. Included with each hymn is the historical background and the circumstances which influenced the hymn-writer. This devotional background is excellent for song leaders as they introduce and lead their congregations in singing.
